9. patients guide when attending the clinic

Below is a guide of the pathway of what most patients will experience when being treated at Denture Design Centre. Some alterations to the treatment pattern might occur please be aware these are just a rough guide.

A patient is usually allocated a 30-minute appointment. This is usually over the phone. the patients title, full name, surname and contact number is taken. Other information will be obtained once the patient has attended the clinic.

The patient, on arrival to the practice is welcomed via the reception. If in an unlikely event of a delay an estimate will be given of how long this will be and asked to make themselves comfortable and wait in the waiting room.

The patient is asked to fill out a form which will have additional contact details and a medical history.

The patient is usually then welcomed into the clinical room.

The patient is asked the purpose of why they have attended the clinic.

Verbal consent is gained to examine the patient.

An examination is then usually carried out.

Treatment options are discussed with the patient and a treatment plan is talked about and explained. The information will include the risks and benefits.

The plan is implemented. Usually this is the provision of new dentures.

The stages of new dentures are usually explained, and time frame is estimated. A quote and consent is gained.

In most cases the treatment can start before the options of the treatment plan are confirmed (we usually take primary impressions on the first visit and tell the patient they can decide which dentures they feel are right for them at the next visit. This is so patients have sufficient time to consider their options but do not have the inconvenience of attending another appointment)

When the treatment is ending completion (usually fitting of the dentures) the patient is asked to make an appointment if they experience any soreness, discomfort or any other issues with the denture.

Making an appointment If you request an appointment, we will try to offer you one as soon as possible at a convenient time.

10. cancellations

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can give the appointment to someone else.

11. facilities

The clinic aims to offer modern, comfortable facilities in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our reception waiting room and clinic are all situated on the ground floor. If you have any difficulties attending the practice or any special requirements, please inform us, we will do our best to help. If you require a domiciliary visit (Home visit) this can be arranged and if communication is an issue, we welcome patients to attend their appointment with either a chaperone or a relative.

12. Paying for your treatment

In most cases we request that half is paid when the treatment plan is agreed on which is usually the second visit and the other half is when the course of treatment is complete. If you would like a different payment schedule please talk to us, we will do our best to facilitate this. We accept cash and the majority of credit cards. We do accept cheques but this is a least preferred payment option.
